The MC-E line was developed to meet the needs of clients performing ground improvement, earth retention and rock drilling works in in restricted access working spaces, which do not allow the use a crawler mounted drilling rig: docks, road edges, rock walls, slopes etc. This is possible due to the large work radius of the excavator and the extreme range of movements and inclinations offered by the excavator boom combined with the attachment kinematics.
The new MC-E 100 is the largest model in the MC-E line-up. The robust mast structure features a mast support joint with a +/- 15° side slewing and a mast slide cylinder. The feeding system is powered by a bi-directional hydraulic winch and offers 10.000 daN feed and 15.000 daN retract force, reaching up to 13.000 mm feed stroke. The mast has a foldable design for easy handling during transport operations. The drilling attachment was mounted on a VOLVO EC300E excavator. Thanks to the powerful base carrier, the rig could be equipped with a high torque rotary head providing up to 2.400 daNm torque. As all Comacchio rigs, the MC-E 100 can be customized according to customer’s needs thanks to a wide range of accessories, including hydraulic drifters, flush pumps, Odex diverters etc. The hydraulic rod holder and combined breaker was enhanced with the Comacchio patented casing extractor, to facilitate the handling of drilling equipment with diameters ranging from 45 to 420 mm.
The MC-E 100 was developed to carry out micropiling works using any kind of rotary or rotary-percussive technique.
